DESCRIPTION:All NAIFA-Florida members are invited to attend the association’s virtual installation of the 2023 Board of Directors and Annual Awards Ceremony\, Tuesday\, Dec. 6 at 4:00 p.m. ET. These events are very important to the life of the association and it’s a time of celebration not only of our new leaders\, but it’s also a time of well-deserved recognition of our award winners for 2022. \nPast NAIFA-Tampa Bay President Jeff Chernoff\, MS\, LUTCF\, LACP will serve as NAIF-Florida President in 2023 and lead the Board as it carries out the association’s Mission next year. Congratulations to Maureen Kirschhofer\, CLU\, ChFC who will be President-Elect\, and Cheryl Canzanella-Lewis who will serve as Vice President. \nThe Installation part of the program will be conducted by NAIFA-Florida’s own Bryon Holz\, CLU\, ChFC\, LUTCF\, LACP who will be President of NAIFA in 2023. During the Annual Awards Ceremony\, the association’s top award winners will be honored. Today you would find quietly hanging in the home a dusty occupational license dated Nov. 13\, 1951\, when Mrs. Russell opened her home to the first child to “see if it would work out.” Since then\, the home has opened its doors to hundreds of youngsters\, sometimes after hearing pleas from desperate parents\, and in more than one instance\, finding them just left on the doorstep. \nThe physical home consists of a nursery\, dormitory wing\, playrooms\, living room areas\, kitchen and large laundry room. The nursery\, done up in bright colors with many posters and stuffed animals\, is cheerful for the children. However\, if your are ever fortunate enough to visit\, bring plenty of tissue as you will find before the end of your visit you will not have a dry eye. The love that is in this home\, expressed through the eyes\, sounds\, and smiles from the children will make you count your blessings for the simple things in life. \nThe Russell Home is also a proud member of the Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies.
